From insurance defense to fighting for the injured
Leontiy Korotkikh is the founder and principal attorney of Viking Law Firm, PC, a California law firm dedicated to protecting the rights of individuals and families facing life's most difficult legal challenges. He represents clients throughout California in personal injury and workers' compensation matters, and clients nationwide in immigration cases. Whether advocating for an injured victim, an injured worker, or someone fighting to remain in the United States, Mr. Korotkikh is committed to providing strategic, aggressive, and compassionate representation from the beginning of every case through its resolution.
Before founding Viking Law Firm, Mr. Korotkikh spent several years representing insurance companies, employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in complex civil litigation. That experience provides him with an insider's understanding of how insurance companies investigate claims, evaluate injuries, negotiate settlements, and defend lawsuits. Today, he uses that knowledge to anticipate defense strategies, build stronger cases, and maximize results for his clients.
Injury and workers' compensation cases Leo handles
Mr. Korotkikh has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of personal injury matters, including automobile accidents, motorcycle collisions, commercial truck crashes, rideshare accidents, pedestrian injuries, premises liability, slip and fall and trip and fall cases, dog bites, catastrophic injuries, and wrongful death claims. He also represents California employees who have been injured on the job, helping them obtain the medical treatment, temporary disability benefits, permanent disability benefits, and compensation they are entitled to under California law.
Immigration advocacy for families nationwide
In addition to his civil litigation practice, Mr. Korotkikh has developed a respected immigration practice focused on protecting individuals and families seeking safety and stability in the United States. He represents clients in affirmative and defensive asylum cases, removal (deportation) defense, immigration detention matters, bond hearings, VAWA petitions, humanitarian relief, federal habeas corpus litigation, and related immigration proceedings. He regularly appears before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), USCIS, and federal courts when necessary. He is passionate about defending the rights of immigrants and helping families remain together.
A personal approach to every case
Unlike many larger firms, Mr. Korotkikh personally handles his clients' cases. He believes every client deserves direct access to their attorney, honest communication, and a legal strategy tailored to their unique circumstances. His approach combines thorough preparation, practical advice, and relentless advocacy both inside and outside the courtroom.
He is fluent in English and Russian, and Viking Law Firm proudly serves clients from diverse backgrounds, including Spanish-speaking communities. Outside of the office, Mr. Korotkikh enjoys spending time with his wife and children. He is also passionate about leveraging technology and artificial intelligence to improve the client experience, increase access to justice, and provide more efficient, effective legal representation.
Education, admissions & recognition
Mr. Korotkikh earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Law from California State University, Northridge. While completing his undergraduate education, he began working at an insurance defense law firm and continued there while earning his Juris Doctor from the University of West Los Angeles School of Law. After being admitted to the State Bar of California, he practiced as an insurance defense attorney before establishing Viking Law Firm, where he now dedicates his practice to representing individuals—not insurance companies.
In recognition of his professional accomplishments and commitment to client advocacy, Mr. Korotkikh was selected to Super Lawyers Rising Stars®, an honor awarded to a limited percentage of attorneys who have demonstrated excellence in the practice of law, and named among the Top 40 Under 40 by The National Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only association of trial attorneys.
Mr. Korotkikh is admitted to practice before all California state courts and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
